Colleen O'Neill

altColleen M. O’Neill took up political action at age 2½ when she helped her mother work the polls during a presidential election. Indeed, politics, trade unionism and advocacy run deep in her veins—all four of Colleen’s grandparents were proud, card-carrying union members, and her paternal grandfather made it to Congress on the strength of a 4th-grade education and a resolve forged from his time as a breaker boy in northeastern Pennsylvania’s mines.

She has 26 years of experience as a reporter, writer, editor, public relations associate, copyeditor, proofreader and editorial project manager. Among other positions, Colleen has served as an assistant press secretary for a state Democratic party and as communications director for an international union. She is well-versed in strategic and targeted communications and can see the long-range picture as well as the missing comma in a caption. She has worked extensively on both print and Web-based projects and has experience in a variety of electronic and social media applications.

She brings to Tricom Associates a keen eye for sharpening and improving prose and an appreciation for each client’s needs. And she ensures every t is crossed, every i is dotted and the semicolons are never misused.

Colleen holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and radio-TV-motion pictures from the University of North Carolina and a master’s degree in political science from American University.
