Bob Muehlenkamp


For nearly 20 years, Bob Muehlenkamp was the executive vice president and national organizing director of 1199, the National Healthcare Workers’ Union. He also served as the Teamsters' organizing director and as an assistant to Teamsters General President Ron Carey. 

altSince resigning from the Teamsters, Bob has been working with the AFL-CIO and many unions on organizing, bargaining and education projects, including campaigns at General Electric, Delta, Northwest and American Airlines, Sutter Health and Union Pacific Railroad. 

Bob is a founder and convenor of U.S. Labor Against War, served as senior labor adviser to Howard Dean in his presidential campaign, and is a Woodrow Wilson Fellow.
