Cheap China goods cost NY 161K jobs-- NY Post

Americans’ mad craving for low-cost goods from China has come at a shocking price: The loss of 161,400 jobs in the past decade.

And some 300,000 New York jobs now hang in the balance in the next decade.

That’s the net result of the surging US trade deficit with China, which is growing by over 14 percent annually -- enough to propel New York into third place behind California and Texas as the states with the most jobs lost to China, according to new research by an international economist, Robert Scott at the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank in Washington.
